Statement
It is my goal as an aesthetic craftsman to solve problems. This is also my approach to visual communication. I search for things that need to be fixed. I make illusions that are entertaining and user friendly. I use common materials and methods when I can, so that this aspect of my work is not a mystery. I practice various disciplines because different projects call for different responses. I take what I do seriously, so I "do it myself."
I am interested in presenting the difficulties I have with understanding our cultural values. My subjects are chosen for what they mean to me and how they reflect the contradictions of our society.
I acknowledge Neal W. Cox, Leslie Raymond, and Heimo Wallner for their invaluable guidance. I am also influenced by the work of Käthe Kollwitz and Tom Sachs.
